Betty Margaret Huselton

Betty Margaret Huselton, 82, of Butler passed away, Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Magee Women's Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was born April 18, 1927 in Penn Township, the daughter of the late E.Dale Hamilton and the late Florence B. Brown Hamilton. She was a direct descendant of Robert Brown, the first settler of Penn Township in 1796-7. Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she had joined many committees, helped with Christimas dinners for years and was a Steven Minister. She was one of first evening students to earn several Associates Degrees at BCCC. The organizations she was involved with include: GFWC Penn Township Woman's Club past president, Butler County Federated Woman's Club past president and southwest district chairman, past member of Butler Country Club, immediate past Matron of Magueda Chapter 421 Order of Eastern Star, active in Meals on Wheels for many years, past president of Oak Hills Garden Club, secretary of Butler Stone House Antique Car Club, past King Lion at Penn Glade Lions Club, and charter member and past president of Penn Glade Lioness Club. Betty had owned and operated "Highland Haven Personal Care Home" in Penn Township. She played the organ and piano and was a pianist at Oak Hills Christian Church, the VA hospital, Hanging of Greens, and many local functions such as Sunrise Service. Her love was gardening, volunteering, and music. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, W.V.(Dean) Huselton whom she married December 20, 1945; 5 daughters, Florence Jaksec and her husband Richard (Dick), Sr.of Butler, Linda Russell of Butler, Ann Hays and her companion Nat Jeffreys of Butler, Janice Plaisted and her husband Ron of Butler, and Deborah Huselton and her companion, Brian Koegler of Butler; a son, David Huselton and his wife Kelly of Florida; 13 grandchildren, Dale Fennell and his wife Liz, Nicole Jaksec, Jessica, Randy and Richelle Russell, Eric Hays and his wife Denna, Melissa McClymonds and her husband William, Kimberly Hays, Jennifer Culp and her husband Jason, and Laurel, Aaron, Kayla and Emily Huselton; 14 great grandchildren, Brian and Gabriella Fennell, Nevaeh Jaksec, Courtney Lynn, Brody & Izabella Hays, Brittany Hays, Carlee, Delaney & Ashley McClymonds, Zach Rovito and Shane & Olivia Culp, Lilly Brennan-Huselton; a grandson-in-law, Curt Lynn; a sister, Donna Ferguson and her husband Reverend Dwight of Florida; and a brother, Robert Hamilton of Indiana, PA. She was preceded in death by a sister at birth, a granddaughter Julie Lynn, a grandson Brian Fennell, a great grandson, Andrew Lynn and step granddaughter, Diane Jaksec. Friends will be received at the Young Funeral Home, Ltd., 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler from 7-9PM on Tuesday, May 5th and 2-4 & 7-9 on Wednesday, May 6th. Services by the Magueda Chapter 421 Order of Easter Star on Tuesday at 6:30PM and by the Penn Glade Lions on Wednesday at 6:30PM. CHANGE IN THE FUNERAL Service: It will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St., Butler on Thursday, May 7th at 11am. Interment at Butler County Memorial Park.
