Rose Ann Lueken

Rose Ann Lueken, 48, of Slippery Rock, PA, lost her valiant 13 year battle with cancer on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born January 8, 1962 in Olney, IL, the daughter of Ed and Connie (Kuhl) Hahn of Plant City, Florida. Ann was an inspiration to everyone who faced difficult challenges in their lives, as she faced hers with unbelievable strength and courage. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was the leader of Ann's Angels, a member of St. Peter Parish and its RCIA Education Group, the Speech Pathologist National Association and was a representative for Cancer Reach for Recovery. Rose Ann received both her Bachelor and Master Degrees from Eastern Illinois University. She was a loving mother and devoted wife to her husband, Paul Lueken, her son, Adam Patrick Rose of Charlottesville, VA and her daughter, Lindsey Ann Lueken, at home. Also surviving are her parents of Florida; her 3 sisters and their husbands, Janet (Greg) Payne of Wesley Chapel, Florida, Linda (Marty) Murphy of St. Louis, Missouri, and Sharon (Kort) Dickson of Salisbury, Maryland; her mother-in-law, Marilyn Lueken of Marshall, Illinois;2 sisters-in-law and their husbands, Nancy (Rick) Stepp of Marshall, Illinois and Becky (Todd) Stewart of Wilmette, Illinois and 2 brothers-in-law and their wives, Ted (Lisa) Lueken of Dunlap, Illinois and Ben (Jeni) Lueken of Paris, Illinois. She was also a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her father-in-law, Arthur Lueken. Friends will be received on Thursday, August 26, 2010 from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at the St. Peter Parish Center & Catholic Campus Ministry (Newman Center), Normal Avenue on SRU campus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter Catholic Church, Main St. Slippery Rock on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Father Kevin Poecking officiating. Rosary will be recited at the Parish Center at 6:30 PM on Thursday, August 26th. Interment in the Slippery Rock Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Visitng Nurses Association, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, PA 16001 or to St. Peter's Parish, 342 Normal Avenue, Slippery Rock, PA 16057.
