Alvin G. Gray

July 25, 1941 - October 4, 2015

Alvin G. Gray, 74, of Butler, PA, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2015 after a brave battle with cancer. He was born July 25, 1941 in Tidal, PA, he was the son of George and Pearl (Craig) Gray. Alvin was a 1959 graduate of Redbank Valley High School. He was a member of the Faith United Presbyterian Church in Butler. He had been a deacon at his church and a volunteer at Butler Food Bank. He was a retired Engineer with West Penn Power. Alvin was a devoted family man who loved hunting and fishing and dogs and spending time with his family. Surviving are his daughter, Stephany J. (Lee) Fosnaught of Butler; 3 grandchildren, Jeremy (Julie) Fosnaught, Ashley Fosnaught and her significant other Bret Conaway and Britney (Matt) Freeland all of Butler. Also surviving is Alvin's significant other, Connie Sowinski of Pittsburgh. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 43 yrs., Gale (Dunagan) Gray who died November 18, 2007. Friends will be received at Young Funeral Home, Ltd., 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM, followed by a service at 8PM with his pastor, Dr. Rev. Don Aull officiating. Interment will be Wednesday October 7, 2015 at Greenlawn Burial Estates. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Alvin to the Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main St. Ext, Butler 16001.
