Earl Lewis McDonald, 73, of Butler, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015 at home. He was born March 8, 1942 in Connellsville, PA, the son of the late Robert and Jenny (Jackson) McDonald. Earl was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the American Legion #117 and had worked at Pullman Standard and as a custodian for Butler High School. Earl was always working on something and loved country music. Surviving are his daughter, Diedra (Eric) Graham of Butler; 3 sons, David and his wife Darlene McDonald of West Sunbury, Brian McDonald of Butler and Shawn and his wife Karen McDonald of Butler; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Adda Belle (Helmick) McDonald, 1 granddaughter, Angel Graham, 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Friends will be received at Young Funeral Home, Ltd., 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, on Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 2-4 & 6PM until the time of the service at 8PM. Military honors by VFW#249 and American Legion #778 & #117. Interment in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Earl's family.
