James Edward Warburton

May 7, 1942 - January 2, 2022

James E. Warburton, 79, of Butler passed away on January 2, 2022, following a short illness. Jim was born in Wilkensburg on May 7, 1942, and was the son of the late Harry Warburton and Elsie (Mahood) Warburton Markham. He was a graduate of Moniteau High School and served in the National Guard. Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Shirley Lukavich Warburton, who he married 54 years ago on September 9, 1967. He is also survived by his son, Scott Warburton and his partner, Carolyn Mulkerrin; his brother, Chester (Jackie) Warburton, his sister, Eva Joy Irons (Ray Cooper); brother-in-law, Jerry (Toni) Lukavich, and a number of nieces and nephews. Jim was employed at Wise Machine Company for many years as a machinist. He had many hobbies and talents. A favorite, which he shared with his son, Scott, was classic cars - repairing, driving, and talking about them. He also always enjoyed fixing and making things with items that were too good to be thrown away. He had an exceptional talent in woodworking and a testament to this talent is shown by many items in his church, The Presbyterian Church of Prospect, where he also served as an Elder for nine years. Jim was a Mason and Shriner -- Butler-Victory 272 Lodge, Syria Shrine, Syria Motor Corps (where he drove a yellow roadster in many parades) and the Scottish Rite Consistory. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 1PM to 4PM at the Young Funeral Home, 127 West Jefferson St., Butler PA 16001. A Masonic service will be held at 4 PM. Funeral Service will be on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at 11AM at The Presbyterian Church of Prospect 115 Church Street, Prospect, PA, with Rev. Dr. Larry Maley and Rev. Jason Sinagra officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers please send contributions to The Presbyterian Church of Prospect, 115 Church Street, Prospect, PA or Shriner’s Childrens Hospital, 1645 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
