Karen "Sis" Lasichak Weichey

Karen Lee "Sis" Lasichak Weichey, 74, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 1:30 pm at the Gwinnett Medical Center, in Lawerenceville, GA. She was born November 5, 1943 in Butler. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Marian (Guntrum) Lasichak. She was united in marriage to Chester E. Weichey on November 22, 1958 in Butler. Karen was retired from the Oak Hill Elementary School in Covington, GA where she worked in the cafeteria for over 10 years. Karen was also a graduate from Butler Beauty School and had her own shop in Renfrew before moving to Daytona Beach Florida, in 1980. Karen loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were her whole world. She was a member of the Prospect United Methodist Church in Newton County. She is survived by her husband, Chester Weichey, Sr. of Covington, GA, her daughter; Diana "Nan" Weichey Harrison (Neil Hart) of Lilburn, GA, and her son Chester, Jr. (Sheila) Weichey of Daytona Beach FL, 3 loving grandchildren Melissa (Lance) Giles of Norcross, GA, Chaz and Siera Weichey of Daytona Beach, FL; and 4 great-grandchildren, Corbin and Anissa Giles, and Milena and McKenna Weichey; 2 sisters, Fayme "Toot" (Jake) Orloski of Butler, and Jane (William) Bates of Covington, GA; a brother, Ronald "Duke" (Jean) Lasichak of Butler; and her furry companion, Rambo. A Celebration of Life in memory of Karen will be held at the Lyndora American Legion in the Victory Room on April 21, 2018 from 5-8pm. Friends and family are invited to stay for a meal immediately following. Karen’s wishes were to be cremated and a private burial will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association in her honor.
