Richard G. Fennell, 90, of Butler, PA, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice. He was born December 16, 1928 in Butler, PA, the son of the late Peter Gilbert Fennell and Gertrude (Oesterling) Fennell. Richard was a veteran of the US Navy, former member of St Marks Lutheran Church, former member of 272, Scottish Rite of New Castle and Syria Temple. He was a well known song writer and musician in Florida and had a band in Butler. Surviving are 3 sons, George C. Fennell of Pittsburgh, Richard P. Fennell of Saxonburg, and Jay L. Fennell of Butler; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol June (Rauschenberger) Fennell who died June 14, 2015, a sister, and 2 brothers. Private service and burial.
